XJS - demo 1989 (feat. HELD UNDER vocalist - my brother)

XJS was an AOR/hard rock project featuring songs written and performed by guitarist Aaron Cheney. He played all instruments, programmed drums, and did backing vocals. He enlisted Mike Stevens of Seattle metallers DISCOVERY (later HELD UNDER) to sing on the demos. Mike did all the vocals in one day. Patrick Stevens (also of DISCOVERY and HELD UNDER) contributed backing vocals on the track 'Haunted'.

HELD UNDER - Dying Breed (1991) Seattle Metal!

I thought I'd share an old metal demo CD of my band Held Under. We played around Seattle for a couple years, and recorded this demo at the Art Institute of Seattle with Jim Rivers (a well known live sound engineer and instructor at AIS). Disbanded after drummer Steve Oliver literally had a heart attack during rehearsal in 1992 (Steve now owns a Tattoo shop in Eastern WA). Re-formed in 1997 until another major tragedy befell us - my brother, singer Michael Stevens was in a devastating car accident in 1998 - and can no longer perform.

Not to be confused with the newer band Held Under from Tri-Cities, NY.

It's progressive/power/old-school metal influenced by Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Vicious Rumors, Mercyful Fate, Megadeth etc.....
